There are no widespread reports or well-documented cases of children having seizures specifically from wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) in small, controlled amounts. Most concerns about wormwood and seizures come from high doses of thujone, a compound found in the plant. Thujone, in excessive amounts, has been linked to neurotoxic effects, including seizures, but this is primarily seen in extreme overuse or concentrated extracts—not in the small amounts typically used in herbal remedies.
Most recorded cases of thujone-related seizures come from historical absinthe consumption or high-dose wormwood oil ingestion, not from properly prepared herbal teas or diluted tinctures. When used in appropriate doses, wormwood has been safely used in traditional medicine for centuries.
Conclusion is that wormwood is apsolutely not dangerous for children or adults!
